Dorm 10 Advisory Committee

Constitution

 

We the students of Dorm 10 Advisory Committee, in order to form a more perfect committee, are to establish a working group. We do ordain this Constitution of D10AC.        

 

Article 1:

Section 1;    All legislative power herein granted shall be vested in a Senate of D10AC, which shall consist of a Student Senate.

Section 2:    The Student Senate shall be composed of members chosen every year by the Dorm staff or The Student Senate President.

Section 3: No person shall be a Senate who is not a Dorm 10 student, must be attending Ft. Wingate High School.

Section 4:    A Senate President, shall be chosen by the majority vote of the Committee.

Section 5:    Powers vested in the Student Senate:

a)     Impeachment

b)    Propose Activities

c)     Make Dorm Policies

d)    Veto any Activities

e)     Aide Dorm staff in time of Crisis.

 

Article 2;

Section 1:    There shall be a:

a)     Senate President

b)    Senate Vice-President

c)     Executive Secretary

d)    Executive Treasure

e)     Executive Sergeant At Arms

 

Section 2: The President has power to preside over meetings, Represent D10AC at other meetings, Appoint Sub-Committee Chairperson, President has no vote, unless a tie.

Section 3: The Vice-President has power to preside over meeting if the President is sick, absent or has resign. Has power to vote.

Section 4: The Secretary has power to take notes, write meeting minutes, and make an Annual Dorm 10 Year Book. Has power to Vote.

Section 5: The treasure has power to keep track of funds, make a proposal on how to spend the money, manages committee spending. Has power to vote.

Section 6: The Sergeant at Arms has power to keep meeting at peace, if the Senate gets out of hand, he/she may be asked to pay a fine.

 

Article 3:

Section 1: There shall be sub-committees to make things easy of the committee.

Section 2; The Following Sub-committees are required:

a)     Hearing- In time of need, when a member or a student needs to have a trial, the sub-committee must preside as the verdicts.

b)    Year Book- Are responsible of making an annual Year Book of Dorm 10, the Executive Secretary is the Chairperson.

c)     Administration- will work closely with the following clubs: Student Council, School Administration, other Dorm Officers, and other extra curricular groups. The Senate President is the Chairperson of this committee.

 

Article 4:

Section 1: There shall be a meeting on Tuesdays, and Thursdays, and a brief one on Wednesdays.

Section 2: A Quorum of 10 shall be present in order to start meeting.

Section 3: The Senate President and the Dorm staff may call a special meeting for emergency purposes.

Section 4: The meeting shall follow the ROBERT RULES OF ORDER!
